hmm indica that message all i would see is urgent then close email lol

you need to make sure email shows it is sent from save-ee 1st thing other wise most wont open it or junk mail it :)

Maybe instead of that big urgent sign being 1st you have a save ee sign then info under it :P just an idea :)

Also you need to find out from admin who has pw and user control over facebook save ee then all you need to do is send out invite to all the ones who has added save ee on their friends list much easier and alot more ppl maybe

No need for advertisement anymore, GoG.com is doing it for us :thumbsupl:.

I've made a post on their forums aswell that their version of empire earth is not compatible with omega's patches and that if they want to play online, they should visit save-ee.com.

Sending messages through Facebook should also help to get attention :thumbsupl:

I came here from GOG, but your Gog post wont last. EE is a game they charge for regularly, its free now but will only be free for the next few hours. So leaving up your post is not only advertising another gaming service, but is advising of a way to get a game free that GOG typically charges 5.99 for. (albeit a different version)

My suggestion, and I hope you take this seriously as I truly believe this is your best chance for saving your game, is alter your post on GOG.com and don't mention that this site is offering a free download of EE. Just mention that you provide a lobby for players wanting to play this game multiplayer. When they are already on the site, then mention they need to download your version first. This will drum up more activity on the site, and will severely lessen the chances of a GOG.com mod deleting your post directing players here.

On the subject of recruitment, if you want to bring old players back, you need incentive. Do a cash prize tourney. It would come out of your current hosting donations, and reduce your saving for future server hosting, but it also has the potential to generate more donations by drawing attention to this site and game again. If an old player sees they have a chance to win money by flexing their gaming muscles on a game they loved, they may remember why they loved it so much, and want to donate to ensure they always have a place to come back to anytime they want to keep playing.

To expand on this, you could advertise it on GOG.Com and instead of a cash tourney, have a tourney with the prize being GOG.com game credits. This would increase the chances of Gog.com admin allowing your thread to stay open, as they benefit from it, and attract a lot of Gog.com players over to this site, which to be honest, is likely your best bet at drumming up interest in this game. You need new blood, old players may return briefly, but they have already proven themselves to be fleeting. The best crack dealers know, that a long time crack head is not nearly as good of a customer as a crack head just getting started out. You cant go wrong with a crack dealer approach to sales :thumbsupl:

I hope you take my ideas under consideration, I've never played EE, but I always root for the underdog.

Tricky what do you think? Should I edit the post and remove the "Free download link" and as they come to our lobby we can still give them a free download link :P.

It sounds like a very good idea to have a tourney with prize moeny, although this would attracts old players rather than new ones as it's the old players who has a chance of winning. Prize shouldn't be winner takes we all know only a handful of people have a real shot at winning it all.

But the last time we had a huge competition was the ladder where it actually did increase the activity quite a bit. As I recall it had a €50 winner prize. 100$ would probably do for a new tourney if u ask me.

As to manni... map size? ROFL!

It's the reasons d-dog wrote. It's very bad for aoc players tho they had the biggest activity somehow people stopped when servers crashed. We have alot of activity on GR in eec. And suddenly due to gog releasing ee gold aoc is booming on GR aswell but thats ONLY new players, I wonder if they stick around

In terms of the cash prize attracting old players vs new ones, one way to mitigate that is to have a cash prize for the winner / scaling ladder for the winners, and a random drawing of a smaller prize for anyone who plays a match, regardless of their final standings when all is said and done.

There are of course non monetary incentives as well, like creating a low tier mod (with no actual mod powers) just so that a member of the forums with that designation could have a special title (such as "World Leader") attached to their profile.
