I remember Insane i played a few games with him but he also played Wolvy quite a lot and they was about the same level... Back then Epic really owned Wolvy i dont think many people understand how good Epic was.. And also it might just seem boring now.. But Krass is actually the best Liga player i have seen on EE ( apart from that week when those Chinese guys came )

Also i think ras and krass same sorta level but i know when ras was trying he was winning krass in 1v1s until krass spammed him alot every day. i know ras gave up trying and trying to prove things to people but even when he aint trying he stil owning with weird strats.

But guess other people think krass and some think ras both top players at liga.

That happens every couple of months. People seem to come back in waves. Its weird.

Unless Ras got much better in the past 8 months or so then no way he is ever top 3 liga player.

The 2 toughest guys I've ever played were, Krass and Samuel @ liga. I played a shit ton of 1v1s and 2v2s versus Ras, Epic, Skulls, etc and never really felt out classed by them ever but the two above I'd usually lose or barely win and it always felt like an up hill fight.

I think it's always hard to compare people of the past with today's players for many reasons.

1) You tend to overrate the people u were first impressed by when u were an upcoming player. If they quit before u reached your prime level, you'll always look back and say "those guys REALLY owned, I was nothing compared to them and now I can beat almost anyone".

2) The game play developes. New tactics are invented and people find better ways to play. The tactics that once worked might not work today. A true expert of the past may get beaten by some medium player because he has today's tactics to use, which will (for the most part) be better.

So my point is there is not much point in comparing people from 2002 to today's players. So compare people from the same period, and it will give a better picture I think.

On a sidenote: Krass is the most impressive liga player Ive ever seen... by far. I heard myst used to beat krass, but really I think krass improved alot since he made the move to sc2.

Obviously good points there Nemo, but you also have to think of the popularity of the game back then compared to now. If we had same amount of players (or atleast experts) today as we had in 2003 then there wud be no doubt in my mind that todays experts would be better then experts from 2003.

I don't think there is any convincing you. You'd just exclaim "Ras probably wasn't trying!". I asked Samuel the other day, if Katzer really believes ras is that good, he said yes Katzer believes that, and we both more or less agreed you're crazy.
