multiple players control same nation feature

I think it would be cool if multiple players could control the same nation - you could split up responsibilites more effictively.
For example one player only does ressources and intrastructure, next one does air, next one does artillery and land AA, next one does other land troups.
This would solve the one issue I have with this game: it becomes a nightmare to micromanage everything, especially when the game progresses.
It would maybe also make a better game for competitive gaming.
Has anyone tried to implement this? Sounds like a difficult patch to me without the source code tho - especially since its a multiplayer thing.
