Elite wrote:Penguini tried something like this with 1776 - it was a complex and in my opinion very well made scenario of the American Revolution. Unfortunately it seemed to crash or drop players at such a high rate that it was almost impossible to finish a game, leading me to believe that the game engine just can't handle scenarios that really push the limits on triggers. Maybe someone with more scenario experience has an opinion.
lightnessking wrote:I don't know that scenario, if it's possible could you send it? If the scen has like 500 triggers which are all active, then yes that'll be instant crash.
Elite, do you still have the scen??

@Omega, is it possible (IF we can arrange a group for this little project) to have our own sub-forum so we can discuss things in private so we can share information in public that will be in the scenario('s) ?

Kazter wrote:This sounds awesome! Question: what units would the barbarian/rome teams have? Just curious.
I do say:

Romans

- Bronze cavalry (Stable)
- Stone throwers (Siege factory)
- Charioteers (Archery range)
- Short sword (Barracks)
- Legionaries (Scenario Editor Unit.)

Maybe some more. (Like javelins / bowman.)

Barbarians

- Horseman (Stable)
- Barbarian / Viking (Barracks)
- Composite Bowman (Archery Range)
- Rams, Siege towers & Catapults (Siege Factory)

There are also several Scenario Editor Units which could fit in the scenario perfectly.
Yeah most of that sounds good, Romans should probably get composite bowmen and also cataphracts. Javelins/pilums should be used by both sides. Siege should definitely be available for both sides but I don't think they should be made the conventional way so we avoid overuse. We'll need to find some way to limit the number of siege weapons available and use triggers to create them instead of siege factories.

At the moment I have a very rough outline of the possible lineup for the scenarios (seven to nine). I'm thinking the first scenario will be The Battle of Argentoratum in 357 between the Romans and the Alemanni. When I am done with the outline I will post each scenario and the number of players in this format:
"The Battle of Argentoratum" (357)
ROME = DARK AGE ALEMANNI = BRONZE AGE
Player I: Name = Roman Division I; Hero = Emperor Julian
Player II: Civ = Roman Division II; Hero = General Clibrannarii
Player III: Civ = Roman Cavalry ; Hero = General Severus
Player IV: Civ = Alemanni Division I ; Hero = King Chnodomarius
Player V: Civ = Alemanni Division II ; Hero = Duke Serapio
Player VI: Civ = Alemanni Cavalry ; Hero = Duke Hortar
Unfortunately I am uber busy this week and will probably not have the entire outline done this weekend. Hopefully I will get a chance to work on it early next week and have it finished before the following weekend. I have figured out most of the battles/campaigns I want to use in the rest of the scenarios but want to research more on the commanders and the amount of men involved. Until then if anybody can think of a way to script the Battle of Argentoratum so it will involve more then just two sides meeting up for a single battle then that would be great because I am having a bit of trouble with that.

I have successfully made one scenario, two Euro roleplays, and I have one half scenario that I can't finish because of the massive amount of triggers involved. I assume you're talking about my indy Euro RP because I posted that on the FRMB forums back in the day. I'm pretty sure you played that one too. Anyway...

Indeed this would be most awesome to enhance the efficiency of our collaborations. I would like to request a sub-forum entitled "Epic Multiplayer Campaign" with access given to me, Lightnessking, Lacrimosa, and Joosh.

You have your own category + subforums (public and private).

No one can see the private one except the people on your list and admins (because I'm too lazy to remove admin access to the subforum, lol). You should be able to add more people if you want by going to User Control Panel -> Usergroups -> Manage Groups -> Manage Users.

You all even have very basic mod rights in the category (except lightness, who still has standard moderator rights everywhere on the board, obviously).

Excellent, thank you sir. Though might I request that the forum description be changed to "Current Project: Barbarian Invasions of Rome"?

What about the Empire - Activist war?

The empire was a great empire, but was invaded by the Activists, the surviving Empire armies formed into two main clans, the EE Saviors and the EE Rebirths. They fight a war in a distant land for control, but eventually the clans declare a truce reunite into the Empire and kill off the Activists. :P

This sounds like a good idea, i dont remember how to make any scens at all but maybe i could make a suggestion. You should make a ww2 scens with the following battles

Battle of Britain
Stalingrad
Monte Casino (italy)
D-day
battle of the Bulge
Okinawa

I chose these because i feel they are most important battles in their respective theaters. Althought battle of britain might be weird because that was just an air war. but hey im just putting my ideas out there haha
