Hello Majskolv. A really interesting question you're asking here. I have to be honest, I've never played this setting on 4vs4, but I'm going to explain how I would have played this out. My answer is going to come with 2 options, since EE has 2 game variants and you didnt tell us what game variant you and you're friends are useing.
A) You and you're friends decided to use the Standard game variant.
Here I would go for Infantry Sword, and I'm going to start with explaining the civ.
Since 150 points you're civ can be superawesome, these following things are from "need to have" to "would be cool to have" in your civ order.
In my opinion "need to have"
Pop cap.
Infantry Sword - Attack, Cost Reduction, Hit Points and Speed.
Hunting & Forageing
Citizens Cost Reduction
Expansionism (optional, but it would help alot)
Building Cost Reduction
Iron Gathering or Wood Cutting (you're choice here on which one. Iron is more agressive and WC is more boom oriented).
In my opinion helpfull stuff, put the once you like if you still have points left.
Citizens Speed/Hit Points
Buildings Range
Siege range
Bomber Speed
Cavarly Sword Speed/Attack
Prophet Cost Reduction and/or Build Time Decrease
Farming (for later in game)
Gold/Iron (for later in game)
In game strategies.
I advice as buildorder to put 8 citizens on food, 2 on building settlements close->to food.
Eventually go for 12 on forage, 3 on hunting and 12 on iron.
2 barracks is enough, try to use them constant.
Uppgrade you're clubmen with 2 hp 2 speed 1 attack.
Rally your clubmen right to the enemie and first of all look for places you later on can attack. Scout most of his base. And once you have a group of 12-18 clubmen you can start doing good damage even if the enemie has some towers up. Focus on hitting enemies citizens.
Around 45-60 f11 you should be stone age, and since it's gigantic map there is still plenty of fish left in the sea.
1.10-1.30 f11 you should be getting to copper age and work on getting 8-11 farms then get more gold iron.
B) Useing Tournament Game Variant
Civ:
Need to have:
Popcap
Expansionism
Hunting & Forages
Citizens Cost Reduction
Infantry Sword Speed/Hit Points/Cost Reduction
Optional, if you still have points left use them on these:
Farming
Seige Range
Bomber Speed
Infantry Range Range/Attack
Cavarly Sword Speed/Attack
Building Range
In game strategies.
Start out simular, but epoch alot faster.
I'm not going to go to far into this, if you still have questions please ask.
