But... then I still wouldn't have them. And what would I do with the money? If I had a reason to have money I would have a reason to keep my items. The point is I don't play anymore, haven't for quite some time. Don't need money, don't need the items but can't bring myself to get rid of them.

He doesn't want to get them again.
He does not play the game anymore. He has cool stuff, that he worked hard for. He feels bad about said cool stuff essentially going to waste, but doesn't want to give it away because he worked hard for it.

Besides, many of the items I have are 1 of a kind so no I wouldn't get them again if I wanted to. That's why they are so hard to give up.
