Armageddon is way better.

Deep Impact's plot is fucking retarded. The government just picks a select few people to go to a shelter and it's about a kid who is in love with some girl and his family gets picked, but he can't take his girlfriend so they go to get married so she can come along, then her parents take her and he can't find her. The story is barely even about the crew in space trying to blow up the comet. Hell, they don't even show them for half of the movie. It's like, hey they're probably dead, then right at the end it's like, oh shit we forgot about them, and they're not actually dead yet, so now we'll show you how they die.

Honestly, who gives a fuck about one kid and his stupid ass girlfriend. Armageddon tells the story of a group of heroes and their struggles along a path to saving the world. What sounds more interesting?

for directors its usually not about whats more intresting, its about what sells more. Unfortunately retarded romance plots can make a good amount of money with a low budget, shit script, poor cast, and no special effects.
