Sodom's In War and Pieces and Tankard's Volume 14 are some good albums that came out late in America if anyone likes good German heavy metal.

That depends on the band. Some black metal is simple, boring shit but there are plenty of technical bands that actually do write real music.

The majority of black metal tends to have some kind of structure, some are pretty simple and suck but there are also bands that actually put effort into writing quality compositions. The types of bands that play pure noise are usually grindcore bands rather than metal bands.

Here are good examples of the difference:

Grindcore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQyHwsoy-h8

Black Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHM74p_QcTM

And all metal is inherently superior to rap, especially poppy rap like emineme.

The funny thing about you is that you love to talk shit but you cannot put together a coherent argument to support anything that you say. I believe that makes you a moron.

No not at all. You have to be one of the dumbest people here, not a single post of yours has contributed to a useful discussion. You're not even smart enough to explain how my previous post supports your claim that I am a moron. Just admit that there is no connection so you can look slightly smarter.

I like to listen to A LOT of hard rock and metal, as well as rap. I can tell you right now that well over 75% of Eminem's songs are far better than some of these "Black Metal" songs I've seen in here. There's a difference between making noise and making music. Any black metal song I've listened to doesn't have any sort of rhythm and has a very small range of tones. Those are two key components in music, and if a song is lackluster in both those areas then it really doesn't make for good music.

First of all thank you for posting an educated response unlike that lightnessfaggot over there. But as a musician and a conditioned black metal listener I must disagree with that. Like I previously said, grindcore is noise shit. However low quality it may be, black metal is just as musical as any other subgenre of heavy metal and has the same rhythmic traits. That is why black metal is considered metal and grindcore is not. Many people who are not used to listening to low quality recordings and harsher vocals might think black or death metal is just noise but if you try to listen for each specific instrument you should be able to understand it better. When done right, black metal is great at portraying a grim, harsh atmosphere while keeping the technical traits of traditional heavy metal.

And you are somewhat correct about the small range of tones. But there are some bands out there that use a good variety and lean more towards a progressive/power metal hybrid combined with black metal. Try Enslaved, awesome shit.

Now apart from the fact that rap wasn't even originally intended to be used in the form of musical production, the way modern rap/pop is created makes it even more unintelligent, talentless garbage. Anybody can push a few buttons and auto tune their voice over it. This cannot and should never be interpreted as music.

@Eisregen
Darkthrone fucking owns. Summer of Diabolical Holocaust is one of my favorite black metal songs.
