EE1 goes to blank screen after intro movies play

I have a new DELL Computer... windows 7 64bit. I have Directx 11. I haven't had any success running EE1 on this new machine. Then I heard about GOG.COM, where EE is compatiable with windows 7. I downloaded it. Everything installed fine, however, when I go to launch the game, after the intro movies play, my screen goes blank (dark gray). I can still hear click when I hit the button. The REAL strange think is..., it didn't work the first day I installed it, however, when I tryed it the 2nd day the game launched fine. I thought I was out of the woods. Then the next day, it nolonger worked again. It is always going to a blank screen after the movies play. I have tryed running as administrator, and tryed a couple of different compatibility modes. I love this game, have been playing it for 7 years. Now that I have window 7, I was hoping GOG would allow me to start playing it again. Anyone have any suggestions? HELP PLEASE

Hey I've read your post in Gog's forums aswell, have you tried downloading our (free) Empire Earth package? Patched and 64 bit supported.

Its most likely your graphics card, change the settings for it and try it again.
