My hardware is: Asus Eee PC Netbook 1011Px Windows7 32bit
I had this problem with Empire Earth.
It could load the intro movie but then it crashed "Empire Earth.exe stopped working".
My Video Card (Intel GMA 3150) was causing this.
I tried everything - re-install, other versions (including this forum's one), cleaning registry, windows xp virtual machine, connecting an external monitor (worked just fine for me), updating driver from Intel, changing 3d options on card and the Downscaling Tweak (finally works good !)*
It has some graphical imperfections but it is 99% from original !
* So the Downscaling Tweak is like this:
"First you gonna open the registry. (Hold windows key + R and type in the box regedit )
After that you click on Edit > Search..., then you search for "Display1_DownScalingSupported" (This may take a few minutes.) When you found the entry in the registry you change its value from "0" to "1". After that, restart your netbook (mandatory !) and change the resolution from 1024x600 to 1024x768 (not allowed before)"
And it goes good
